Millan receives Presidents Award for outstanding service to Water Reuse Industry

ALEXANDRIA, VA – Mark Millan, principal of Data Instincts, a Sonoma County Public Relations firm specializing in water issues, was recently awarded, the prestigious President’s Award from the WateReuse Association. The award is made by the President to individuals who demonstrate outstanding service and commitment to the overall Water Reuse Community. Association President, John Shearer presented the award at the 26th Annual WateReuse Symposium in Phoenix, AZ on September 12, 2011.

Mark Millan has served as the chairman of the WateReuse Public Education and Outreach Committee for the WateReuse Association since 2005. Under his leadership a new public website was launched nationally called AThirstyPlanet.com as well as new publications and media programs designed to educate the public on the need for new sustainable water resources such as recycled water and desal.

The WateReuse Association is a national organization with the mission “to advance the beneficial and efficient use of water resources through education, sound science, and technology,” and is well known to water and environmental agencies and governmental entities throughout the world.
Data Instincts has been involved with public outreach and education for recycled water and desalination projects throughout the West Coast including work with the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, Redwood City, Santa Rosa, Santa Cruz, Windsor, Petaluma and King County, Washington.
