Former Windsor Mayor Mark Millan is presenting before the International Desalination and Reuse Association in Reykjavik, Iceland this week.

The presentation, “Communication Strategies for Advancing Public Acceptance of Water Reuse Projects,” according to a Sept. 29 news release, is part of the “Summit on Water and Climate Change.”

Millan is founder and principal of Data Instincts, a research, communications and media relations company that aids public outreach on water, wastewater, and recycled water projects.

“The Summit on Water and Climate Change covers key topics in climate resilience, including water recycling and advanced potable reuse projects, Millan said. “These efforts are vital in expanding water supplies globally. I appreciate the emphasis on communication strategies for water reuse in shaping the future of our water resources.”

Millan’s presentation draws from two research projects he co-authored that outlined strategies for communicating with the public about potable and non-potable uses of recycled and advanced purified recycled water to address future global water supply issues.
